Two Days in PEI...

Yesterday we took the ferry from Nova Scotia to the east coast of PEI. We spent the day just touring the coast. We stopped at a few light houses and I dipped my feet in the ocean. It was a hot day and we just toured around in the car. We kept our caching streak alive and picked up a cache at the first light house we visited, Cape Bear.

The view was amazing!

Dipping my feet....

After driving around the coast for a few hours, we then headed to our accommodations for the evening. A little bed and breakfast in downtown Charlottetown. The name was weird, it was called the Tailor shop. Convenient for me, it was located tight next to the local quilt shop!! Of course I stopped in and made a pattern purchase and some fabric!
We enjoyed a nice dinner at a local pub and then had a nice drive down to the harbour and toured the boardwalk and picked up trinkets for the kids (no I haven't forgotten about them!) and enjoyed some locally made ice cream!

Since we didn't have far to travel, day 2 in PEI didn't have to start too early. After a nice little breakfast, we headed out for a morning filled of Anne! We arrived at the house that inspired the stories just after nine am. Everything seemed so small. The surrounding landscapes were beautiful! It was amazing to see the views and countryside that inspired LM Montgomery to write such amazing books. Just after lunch, we had pretty much toured everything associated with Anne. The museum, Green Gables and the house where LM Montgomery had grown up. We even managed to snag our cache at Green Gables!

We drove a little around the coast and took in some more sights, then headed into Summerside for our last night on the island. By the time we got to our beautiful hotel right on the harbour, it was raining really hard. Someone declared it time for a nap, I sat and looked at the beautiful view (even in the rain) and waited for the tall ship to come into the wharf.

The Peacemaker.

After nap time, we went for a quick drive to another local quilt store and I picked up some more fabric! However, the rain is still falling so we made a quick stop at the tall ship docked across the street and then headed back to the hotel.  It will be an early night as we start our journey back to Ontario tomorrow. :(
